Marjorie Pettit

 

TEACHER OF VOICE AND DIRECTOR OF CHOIRS

 

Marjorie Pettit Dip.mus.ed.R.S.A.M. is a graduate of The Royal Scottish Academy Of Music,now The Royal Scottish Conservatoire where she studied piano with Wight Henderson and singing with Ena Mitchell.

The four year course was widely comprehensive with emphasis on conducting and general musicianship.

 

On arriving in Bermuda she continued piano study with Geoffrey Tankard and earned the L.R.S.M. diploma.

 

In Bermuda she has worked as musical director with societies such as B.M.D.S. and Gilbert and Sullivan. She also directed major projects for The Bermuda Festival such as “ The Mikado” , Handel’s “ Israel In Egypt “ and “ The German Requiem” of Brahms.

 

She is very happy to be working within The Bermuda School of Music with their Youth Choir and The Bermuda Chamber Choir And Orchestra.
